Musgrave Northern Ireland has announced the appointments of John McGinnity as head of wholesale and foodservice, and David Higgins as retail sales director.
Higgins brings more than 20 years of FMCG experience to the food retail, wholesale, and foodservice company, joining from Diageo Ireland where he most recently served as head of spirits, having previously held the position of head of strategic accounts.
As retail sales director, Higgins will lead the growth of the retail partnership model throughout Northern Ireland, focusing on Musgrave’s SuperValu, Centra, and Mace brands.
McGinnity has been with Musgrave for 17 years, holding various trading and sales roles, most recently serving as head of specialist and world food sales for the group’s wholesale partners in the Republic of Ireland.
He will replace Richard Mayne, who has transitioned to the role of director of beverage within Musgrave Group’s wholesale and foodservice division. In his new position, Mayne will oversee the beverage business across the entire island of Ireland.
“With our ambitious plans to grow our retail store network as well as expand our footprint across the foodservice and wholesale sectors, I am delighted to welcome David and John to the Musgrave NI business,” said Musgrave NI MD Trevor Magill.
“We recently announced our £1.2bn impact on the local economy and I am confident that the experience that David and John bring will ensure we continue to remain a positive force here in Northern Ireland. I would also like to wish Richard the very best in his new role.”
