Honi Poke expands with acquisition of Island Poke

Honi Poke has announced the acquisition of rival brand Island Poke. The deal adds 18 sites to Honi Poke’s portfolio, bringing its total to 45 locations across the UK and Europe, including 33 in the UK.

Honi Poke plans to continue operating the newly acquired sites under the Island Poke brand and aims to reach 50 locations within the next year.

Since its launch in 2017, quick-service chain Honi Poke has ridden the wave of Hawaiian-influenced poke bowl popularity originating in the US.

Richard de la Cruz, with experience from Coya London and Arros QD, drives Honi Poke’s sustainable menu, featuring responsibly sourced Scottish salmon and line-caught Yellowfin tuna, all served in compostable, plant-based containers.

Founder of Honi Poke, Volodymyr Martynov, said: “This is a landmark moment for Honi Poke. Island Poke has played a huge role in popularising poke across the UK and Europe, and we’re incredibly proud to bring our two brands together.

“Honi Poke has experienced phenomenal growth over the past few years, opening nine new sites last year alone, and with this acquisition we’re projecting annualised revenue of over £20m in the UK alone. Our ambition is clear: to reach 50 sites within the next year.”
