Delaware North has been named the new hospitality provider at Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light in Wearside.
The contract caterer will deliver food and beverage services for general admission and premium hospitality areas during matchdays, concerts, and other events.
Chef and lifelong Sunderland fan Tommy Banks, known for his Michelin-starred restaurant The Black Swan at Oldstead, will also oversee the stadium’s exclusive premium hospitality areas, including the Banks on the Wear and 76 Yards experiences.
While the value of the contract remains undisclosed, the partnership forms part of Sunderland AFC’s seven-figure investment in upgrading the club’s concourse areas.
In preparation for the 2025–26 Premier League season, the stadium will introduce an upgraded food and beverage experience, featuring a broader range of beers and partnerships with local vendors, all supported by new technology aimed at improving service speed and quality.
Delaware North also delivers hospitality services at the Emirates Stadium, London Stadium, and Wembley Stadium, along with over 50 major sports venues around the world.
Doug Tetley, managing director of Delaware North UK, said: “The Stadium of Light is a special place with a passionate fanbase, and we are excited to bring our global experience and innovation to this iconic venue. Our goal is to deliver memorable moments for every supporter who walks through the gates.”
David Bruce, chief business officer at Sunderland AFC, added: “Partnering with Delaware North will enable us to offer world-class experiences that are built around the fan, with innovation and technology ensuring speed and service excellence. They place supporters and local culture at the heart of each of their bespoke offerings, making them a natural partner for our Club.
'We are truly thrilled to be collaborating with them and can’t wait for our fans to experience what is coming to the Stadium of Light.”
