Coaching Inn Group appoints new MD to support growth strategy

The Coaching Inn Group has appointed a new managing director to support the continued growth of its thriving pubs-with-rooms business.

Adam Charity has been promoted to the role from chief operating officer with immediate effect, following a rapid phase of growth for the group.

He joined the business in 2008 as a bartender at the White Hart in Boston and has since risen swiftly through the ranks.

Acquired by RedCat Pub Company in 2021 with 18 sites, Coaching Inn Group has since grown to 36 locations.

The company has undertaken extensive refurbishments of buildings located in heritage market towns, national parks, and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty throughout England and Wales.

Earlier this year, Richard Lewis, chief executive of RedCat, hailed the Coaching Inn Group as the “jewel in our crown” following its role in driving the wider company’s EBITDA up 290% to £8.8m in the last financial year.

Coaching Inn Group has also reported a strong Q2 performance, with total like-for-like sales up 5.4% and accommodation like-for-like sales up 10.1%, amid a broader boom in the pubs-with-rooms sector.

Lewis said Charity had guided the business to “two record-breaking years for sales.”

He added: “I have no doubt that he is the best person to take the business to the next level, as we look to grow and build on everything we have achieved so far.”

Charity said he is excited about exploring new locations to further expand the Coaching Inn Group brand.
