In London's Knightsbridge, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park has recently launched Lucho, a dinner-exclusive restaurant showcasing the flavors of Chilean cuisine.
Executive Chef Francisco Hernandez highlights Chilean recipes inherited from his grandfather, Luis, fondly known as Lucho.
Lucho, the restaurant's namesake, was renowned for hosting regular gatherings for friends and family behind his grocery store in Chile. These evenings were characterised by homemade cuisine, board games, and inventive cocktails.
Drawing inspiration from this cherished tradition, Hernandez's restaurant offers a menu featuring dishes like palta cardenal, showcasing avocado and prawns, British seafood tiraditos, pastel de choclo crafted from corn, and Abuelo Luis' favorite, pescado al horno.
Lucho will take over the hotel's Rosebery afternoon tea suite from Thursday to Saturday evenings.
The Rosebery will maintain its afternoon tea service outside of Lucho's operational hours.
The debut of Lucho follows Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park's recent introduction of the Ukiyo Room, a private omakase experience, announced just last month.
