Markus Basset named bar manager of the Savoy's Beaufort Bar


Markus Basset has taken on the role of Bar Manager at the Beaufort Bar in the Savoy, London.

Basset, originally from the Champagne region in France, attended bar school in Munich in 2017 before moving to Austria to serve as assistant bar manager at aDLERS Design Hotel in Innsbruck for three years.

He returned to London in 2021 and assumed the position of assistant bar manager at Fallow restaurant.

Basset said: 'Assuming the leadership position of the glamorous and luxurious Beaufort Bar has always been a personal aspiration of mine. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with the team in order to create unforgettable cocktails and experiences for our esteemed guests in this charismatic London venue.'

The Savoy, consisting of 267 rooms, first opened its doors in 1889 and stands as the first purpose-built deluxe hotel in London. It is currently operated by Accor under the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand.
