Cosmo Group shuts two restaurants

The Cosmo Group has closed two of its Cosmo Authentic World Kitchen-branded world all-you-can-eat buffet sites this month, one in Coventry and one in York.

Like other troubled casual dining firms this year, the Cosmo Group stated the closures were due to: “well documented pressures on our industry and tough trading conditions”.

The closures mean the franchise company, which launched in 2003, now has 19 restaurants operating across the UK and Ireland, offering dishes from China, Thailand, Japan, India, the US, Italy and the UK.

The Cosmo eatery in York, which was launched as Cosmo Luxe, a more gourmet version of the brand, has now reopened as Panda Mami, another world buffet brand. This will be the second site for Panda Mami, which launched in Chester in 2016, with further openings planned.
