Pimentae, the female-founded tequila cocktail brand on a mission to reimagine ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails, today announces the close of its £1.5 million funding round, led by early-stage consumer fund FIGR Ventures. The raise brings total funds secured by the business to date to £2.5 million. In a sector where less than 1% of UK venture capital goes to all-female teams (source: British Business Bank), Pimentae’s success is both notable and necessary.
The new capital will support Pimentae’s ambitious next phase: scaling UK retail partnerships, deepening its presence in travel retail, and accelerating expansion into key European markets. Founded by friends Wynter Karo and Alice Parmiter, Pimentae has rapidly built a cult following through its award-winning range of premium tequila cocktails, strong design identity, and a bold lifestyle-led brand strategy. The duo, both Forbes 30 Under 30 alumni, launched the brand in 2021 to fill a glaring gap in the RTD category for elevated, design-led drinks that champion both quality and culture.
The latest funding round drew interest from an enviable cohort of investors, including:
• FIGR Ventures – a female-founded UK-based fund backing responsible early-stage consumer businesses
• Revenge Capital – a global impact fund investing in underrepresented founders
• Solo Investments Holdings – led by LADbible Group co-founder and CEO Solly Solomou
• Puneet and Poonam Gupta OBE – British-Indian entrepreneurs and philanthropists behind global paper enterprise PG Paper
“This raise marks a defining moment in Pimentae’s journey,” said Wynter Karo, co-founder of Pimentae. “With new strategic firepower behind us, we’re ready to unlock major growth across UK retail and EU markets. We’re especially proud to have brought on investors who share our values and vision – from championing female-led innovation to rethinking the future of premium drinks through a lifestyle lens.”“Wynter and Alice are building more than just a product – they’re building a movement,” said Ellie Craig, Portfolio Director at FIGR Ventures. “Pimentae stands out in the RTD space by combining premium quality with cultural relevance and beautiful designs. During diligence, our consumer panel confirmed what we suspected: this brand isn’t just liked by its target consumer - it’s loved.”
FIGR’s backing of Pimentae follows its earlier investments in sustainable extra virgin olive oil brand Citizens of Soil, AI-enabled fashion technology business TRUSS, and language learning app Sylvi. The fund focuses on early-stage businesses reimagining life’s everyday choices. Pimentae’s growth comes amid a broader shift in the spirits world, toward female-founded, experience-led brands. Its cans, designed in collaboration with artist Morgan Dagata, have become instantly recognisable among millennial and Gen Z audiences, winning multiple awards and 'best canned cocktails' across the Telegraph, Times, Good Housekeeping, Stylist, BBC Good Food and more.
With listings secured across Waitrose, Ocado, Co-op, John Lewis, and British Airways, and a growing hospitality presence, the brand is now laser-focused on scaling its footprint across Europe, beginning with the Netherlands and Germany in Q3.
