Matthew Fowler named Chief Financial Officer at Revel Collective

Matthew Fowler has been names Chief Financial Officer at Revel Collective, formerly known as Revolution Bars Group.

He succeeds Danielle Davies, who resigned in March to pursue a new opportunity.

Effective from 16 June, Fowler will oversee the Revolution, Revolución de Cuba, and Peach Pubs brands as the group aims to restore confidence in its outlets following a major restructuring plan implemented last September.

Fowler joins from online retailer MusicMagpie, where he served as Chief Financial Officer until April this year. Prior to that, he held the same position at medical devices company Genedrive from 2016 to 2022.

Rob Pitcher, chief executive of the Revel Collective, said: “Matthew’s wealth of experience will be invaluable in helping to steer the group through the challenging times currently faced by the hospitality sector and support the business to realise its true value.”

Fowler said: “I am excited to join the Revel Collective at this important moment in its journey. I look forward to working with Rob and the wider team to help deliver on the company’s strategic plans.”

Last year, Revel Collective changed its trading name as part of its repositioning following restructuring.

In April, the company initiated a formal sale process alongside a restructuring plan that involved raising £12.5 million. After negotiations with Nightcap over a potential deal fell through, the group proceeded with its restructuring efforts, which included closing around 25 bars.
