Líbere Hospitality Group, a Spanish operator specialising in alternative short - and medium-term accommodations, has launched a new 44-bedroom property as part of its ambitious expansion strategy.
LHG, which currently operates in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece, is now expanding into the UK for the first time with the launch of the Líbere London Edgware Road hotel.
The hotel, situated in Paddington, occupies a fully refurbished Victorian building. It offers 44 bedrooms and includes a Coffee Island café on the ground floor.
The company aims to grow rapidly through management contracts with existing property owners, targeting both short- and mid-term stays.
The model also incorporates contactless access and design elements inspired by Nordic and Japanese aesthetics.
“We are pleased to be taking this significant step in our international expansion,” said Antón de la Rica, Co-CEO of Líbere Hospitality Group. “London is an iconic city for both business and leisure travel. We believe that our tech-enabled, operationally efficient model can deliver real value in a market that is both dynamic and highly competitive.”
“Choosing London aligns with our strategy to prioritise high-demand UK, Irish and European cities, where our business model can scale efficiently”, said John Harrington, Head of Real Estate Acquisition for the UK & Ireland at LHG. “We see sustained demand for short- and medium-term stays in the capital, particularly among business travellers, digital nomads, and relocation clients, all segments where LHG has already demonstrated strong performance in other markets.”
The company’s portfolio currently includes over 1,900 units across more than 50 properties in these five countries, encompassing both operational sites and developments in progress.
With 16 more openings planned for 2025, LHG anticipates operating 1,200 units—a 135% increase from 2024—and building a total pipeline of 3,000 units, marking 66% year-on-year growth. These milestones underscore the company’s long-term goal to expand its model across Europe’s key urban markets.
