September, London - London Cocktail Week is just around the corner, and this year, we're inviting mixologists and bartenders to embark on a unique journey with Showering's Cider in the 'Appley Ever After' cocktail competition.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Step into the world of apples and cider as Showering's Cider presents a cocktail competition like no other. 'Appley Ever After' challenges you to unleash your creativity and showcase your mixology talents in an exciting battle of flavours. The twist? Cider takes centre stage as the main ingredient in your concoction.
Showering's is a new triple vintage cider produced in Somerset launched earlier this year. It is made with techniques requiring as much experience and attention-to-detail as those used in the creation of fine wines. Showering's aims to change the perception of cider and giving it a deserved place at fine dining tables. Crafted using apples from a single award-winning orchard in Somerset, the heartland of British cider making, Showering's is the next generation of British fine cider that has been created to enjoy across the seasons as an aperitif or as the perfect food companion.
EVENT DETAILS:
The competition is free to enter with the final of the competition with take place on the 16th October at the infamous Nobu Hotel, 22 Portman Square, London, W1H 7BG from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
1. Get Your Samples: Contact Sam Haddon at sam.haddon@showerings.co.uk by September 28, 2023, to receive your samples of Showering's Cider and start crafting your unique cocktail.
2. Submit Your Recipe: Share your recipe and a photo of your creation by October 2, 2023.
3. Top 6 Finalists: The top 6 entries will be announced on October 5, 2023, and will advance to the competition final at Nobu Hotel on October 16, 2023.
COMPETITION RULES:
• Theme: Your cocktail should embrace the concept of ‘Journey’ in any way that inspires you—whether it's your personal relationship with cider, the story of cider, or any interpretation related to the word 'journey.'
• Key Ingredient: Your cocktail must include a minimum of 50ml of Showering's Cider as the primary flavour component.
• Ingredient Limit: You may use a maximum of six ingredients, excluding garnish.
• Homemade Ingredients: Homemade ingredients are encouraged and allowed.
• Presentation: During the final, you'll be asked to create three servings of your cocktail and have 5 minutes to present them to the judges. Keep sustainability and ethics in mind when crafting your recipe.
• Prizes: The grand prize winner will enjoy an exclusive Showering's experience for two, including a two-day, all-expenses-paid trip to Somerset, complete with a local hotel stay, a tour of the Mill, orchard, and grounds. Additionally, each of the six finalists will receive a complimentary case of Showering's Cider (12x375ml).
