BWH Hotels expands UK portfolio with acquisition of seven new properties

BWH Hotels has added seven independent hotels to its portfolio as part of its goal to grow to 20,000 rooms across the UK by 2029.

The expansion is part of BWH Hotels’ strategy to add 100 properties to its existing UK portfolio of 230 hotels over the next five years, under brands such as Best Western and WorldHotels.

The latest additions include the 100-room Best Western Sheffield City Hotel and the 37-bedroom Best Western Ebbw Vale Hotel, which features an on-site restaurant and bar.

BWH Hotels has also strengthened its luxury portfolio by adding the 32-bedroom Forty Seven Hotel in Manchester—home to Asha’s Restaurant and the Peterman Cocktail Bar—alongside the 36-room Velvet Hotel Bar and Brasserie, both now part of its WorldHotels Crafted collection.

These additions follow the inclusion of the Kings Arms Hotel in Christchurch in the WorldHotels Distinctive collection, along with the 41-bedroom Lakeland Kendal Hotel in Cumbria and the Casa Hotel in Yateley, Hampshire, which have both strengthened the Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western.

Robert Alley, brand development director of BWH Hotels GB, said: “Securing seven quality, well-located hotels shows the strength of the hands-on, proactive support we offer at BWH Hotels.

“We know just how tough the market is for hoteliers right now and in times like these, hotels need more than a brand, they need a partner who can help turn pressure into progress. That’s exactly what we’re here to do for these brilliant new additions.”

BWH Hotels operates a global portfolio of 4,200 hotels across more than 100 countries. With each property independently owned, the group stands as one of the world’s largest networks of independent hotels.
