Kevin Rockey has been appointed as the area general manager at Zetter Hotels, a newly established position within the company.
He will oversee the launch of the 68-bedroom Zetter Bloomsbury, scheduled to open in January 2026, while also spearheading the brand’s ongoing international expansion.
With 25 years of industry experience, Rockey most recently held the role of Head of Operations for the Northern and Eastern regions at Ennismore. He also served as Deputy Chief Operating Officer for the Hoxton’s 12-property portfolio, which generates nearly £200 million in annual revenue.
Earlier in his career, Rockey was based in New York as Executive Vice President of Operations at The Standard Hotels. Before that, he held several food and beverage leadership roles in London at renowned establishments including Le Gavroche, The Lanesborough, and The Berkeley.
Throughout his career, he has played a key role in the opening of several high-profile properties, including St Martin’s Lane in London and the W Hotel Leicester Square.
Laith Pharaon, owner of the Zetter hotels, said: “Kevin’s substantial experience in the international hospitality sector is much admired and will be a key component of the Zetter’s rebirth and boutique expansion. With the Zetter Bloomsbury, we are embarking on an exciting new period in our history and Kevin will help us deliver a guest experience fit for 2026 and beyond.”
Rockey said: “I’m proud to embark on the next stage of my career with the entire team at the Zetter. Our next hotel in Bloomsbury is just the beginning of a remarkable new period for the Zetter brand and I’m excited to be bringing my global hospitality knowledge to the group, and develop new guest experiences to make our operations second-to-none.”
The Zetter Bloomsbury will become the boutique hotel group’s third London property, joining Zetter Marylebone and Zetter Clerkenwell.
The Zetter is owned by global hospitality investor Orca Holding, whose current portfolio includes investments in Alila Maldives and Soho House properties in Spain and Mexico City. Past investments have included hotels under the Six Senses, Hyatt, and Four Seasons brands.
