Morrisons has named Claire Farrant, former marketing director at Lidl, as its new head of marketing.
Farrant is set to join Morrisons in early June as group marketing director, succeeding Rachel Eyre, who is departing the company after more than four years.
Farrant has spent the past two years at BP, serving as vice president of mobility and convenience for Europe.
Before joining BP, Farrant spent 18 years in the grocery sector, including over eight years as marketing director at Lidl UK and six years in various senior roles at Tesco.
In her new role as group marketing director at Morrisons, Farrant will collaborate closely with Matt McLellan, who is set to join from Asda in early June as the group’s newly appointed data and media director.
Chief executive of Morrisons, Rami Baitiéh, said: “Claire has an outstanding record in UK grocery and her deep experience, clear customer focus and proven strategic marketing skills will make her a valuable new addition to our senior team.
“I would also like to thank Rachel for her contribution to Morrisons over several years and wish her the very best for the future.”
