Crafted, a lifestyle hotel and club brand, is set to open in East Sussex in late 2025.
Crafted, created by Chris King—co-founder of the Birch hotel concept—is described as a 'series of life-friendly hotels and clubs, crafted by name, crated by nature.
Crafted at Powdermills in East Sussex will mark the brand’s debut. Set to launch in late 2025, the property is centered around a seven-acre private lake.
Set within a Georgian Grade II-listed country house, the hotel will offer 55 rooms and suites designed by House of Dré. Guests can enjoy a range of amenities, including a pub, restaurant, cocktail bar, craft barn, art studio, and a members' club.
Additional accommodation includes three cottages, each ranging from three to five bedrooms. All cottages feature a kitchen-diner and a living area with a stove. The largest, known as the Lake House, boasts a private garden, outdoor pool, and direct access to the lake via a private deck.
The Craft Barn and Art Studio—two dedicated creative spaces—will host a variety of art-based activities, including ceramics, printmaking, and more.
Across its food and beverage venues, Crafted aims to source 75 percent of its ingredients from within the UK. The restaurant will be helmed by an executive chef—yet to be announced—while the all-day pub will offer dishes prepared on an outdoor open grill and in a wood-fired pizza oven.
King said: “Crafted at Powdermills is just the beginning. Over the coming years, Crafted will grow into a network of life-friendly hotels and clubs across the UK and beyond. Each one unique to its setting, but all sharing the same spirit: nature-first, creatively charged, and thoughtfully designed for balancing modern lives.”
